Community Projects
Join the Community
Good ideas are being transformed into action all over the city, county, state, country, and around the world. Consider sharing your ideas and donating your energy and expertise to community projects. There are lots of ways to get involved with community projects.
Addressing Problems and Finding Solutions
Substance abuse, violence and injury are the leading causes of death and disability among young people. Creating safer, youth-friendly communities require that families, schools and community leaders work together to support solutions.
There are a wide variety of projects for Santa Fe's families and community members to work on:
- Support Let's Talk workshops for parents and other family programs that promote youth health, safety and success in schools and community life.
- Support programs such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters that provide mentors who can teach health and safety skills.
- Use social networking sites such at Facebook and Twitter to promote public dialogue about youth health and safety.
- Support student-led organizations that focus on youth safety, health and success in school and community life.
- Support school-based and community-based safety and health committees and coalitions that work to identify and prevent problems related to bullying, harassment, violence, substance abuse, behavioral health problems and injury.
